Embrace the Camera - February 10,2011

Me and my first born. She is growing up way too fast these days. I decided to snag her after she got home from school and the other 2 were still at Grandma's. Because she's in school all day, I don't get very many pictures of her. I am saddened by the fact that days like this, cuddles like this, will be a distant memory some day. She's turning nine in a month...nearly a tween. Gasp! That kills me. Fortunately for now she is still very lovey and affectionate with us. I get lots of "I love you's" and snuggles in bed. I will miss days like this.

Joy of Love...blah, blah, blah

I haven't kept up. Maybe I'll try, maybe I won't. I don't have time to think about it right now!

More important than documenting what I love about my dear, sweet family (kidding of course) is my hair. What to do with it? Grow it? Cut it? I had an appointment booked with a stylist on Saturday and she no-showed! However, it has given me more time to figure out what to do with it.

YOU decide...

long?

long with bangs and more layered?

medium?

short bob with bangs?

curly with bangs?

short?(but Lord above! Hopefully without the wings!)

Help! Help me decide! My goal this year was to grow my hair really long be/c I haven't had long hair since I was TWO. But I always get to this point (about an inch longer than the very first picture) and want to give up. It starts to hang. What is the point of having long hair if it looks like crap? So, you out there...please comment. Tell me what to do.

Joy of Love: Day 3

Then and Now:

The oldest picture I could find on my computer (too lazy to scan one) was taken 8.5 years ago. Gabrielle was just 6 months old and Greg would have been 32. He had such a baby face! He'd just shaved off his goatee - it was the first time I'd seen his face with a facial hair and discovered he had a "bum chin"! He looks sooooo young!

Now, his face is definitely fuller. He has a substantial smattering of grey hair on the sides of his head. But he's still a babe to me!

Joy of Love: Day 2

How they look:

They love to lie in Lily's bed and read books together before bed. I wanted to remember how they looked together all snuggled up. One day this will be nothing but a memory. They all play so well together and have so much fun when they do. Nothing's better than hearing them giggling and having fun. Lily is constantly saying "Gabrielle? I love you!". It is the sweetest!

Embrace the Camera. Feb.3rd

Here I am sitting in front of my computer super late (for me) looking at blogs and websites. Seriously, it is like a time vacuum. You sit down, blog, look up and hours have been sucked away from you. Hours you will never retrieve. But hey, you'll have learned how to make crocheted booties and really yummy risotto!

Month of Love - Day One

The Joy of Love

Day One.
The thing today was to take a picture of DO. What they do. I can't go to work w/ him but I can photograph what he does at home. He cleans the kitchen after dinner. Every night. He tells me to go sit and rest and have a break and he cleans up. He is a good husband to me.

Ten on Tuesday

1. I am super busy w/ work but forcing myself to blog something otherwise I know it will be days or weeks. And really, who doesn't want to hear what I'm up to? Thats what I thought...

2. It is warming up out there...from -26 yesterday to -7 today and then up to +3 tomorrow! It feels balmy out there.

3. We had a lovely weekend...I had a fun night out at my girlfriends on Friday that included lots of snacks and even a chocolate fondue (heaven!!!), Greg took the kids tobaganning on Saturday and then they went again on Sunday w/ their cousins.

4. Max insisted on wearing his "eyes" to toboggan...

5. I have to get Lily registered for Kindergarten...why do I keep forgetting?

6. My kids will be at the inlaws and my husband is going out somewhere tomorrow night so I can have an evening alone. Yippeee! (Is it bad that I asked him to go somewhere??)

7. We are having home-made chicken noodle soup for dinner and hot-crab open faced sandwiches. Yum..haven't had those in a long time.

8. While the kids and Greg were out on Sunday tobogganing, I cleaned the whole house. It feels so good to have it so clean and was much easier to do without a million interuptions.

9. I need to take my girl on a date soon...we are in need of some Mummy and Gabrielle time.

10. This weekend the cousins are sleeping over then we are going to their house for Superbowl. You know what that means...SNACKS! Whoo hooo! Good thing I've been "Shredding It!!!"
